Art in the City
I had to take my car into the garage to get the cambelt replaced along with a service and a WOF. I am still waiting for the call to pick it up, so hopefully all is OK. After dropping of the car I walked though a part of the city I don't get to very often and, found some interesting things, this being one of them.
It is a art work fence but cannot find out anything about it and I don't know how long it has been there. It was hard getting a good shot because of all the cars parked there and the sun was right in my eyes. Will have to go back again later in the day sometime and get a few more shots. Behind this fence is the runes of the Holiday Inn. Also there is a garden going in at one end of the fence line. I noticed a new stone carving, which was half covered up still near by, on High street. Here are some photos I took of the carving.
In cathedral square they were setting up for IceFest which opens on Friday. Here are some photos of them setting up today. Also I found that a new Mural is going up, which will be a back drop to the event. Here are some shots I took of that also. Just as I was leaving the artists came back and I was talking to them for a while. They are done other works around the city and they hope to get this finished by Friday for the opening of the IceFest event.
As I got closer to home I noticed that the Victoria Clock tower, clock was going again. The clock stopped when the September earthquake hit and they just got it going again when the February earthquake hit. Hopefully it's not a bad omen for another quake! Here are some shots of the Clock.
For people who would like a update on the Knox Church here are photos I took today on my way home.
I have just picked my car up, everything was Ok.. apart from pocket!
