Low tech

Last night I used my trusty swift and ball winder to create a center pull ball of yarn for my wedding shawl. I realized as I was doing this that one of the things I love most about knitting (other than creating something beautiful and functional) is that I'm using the same tools and techniques that fellow knitters have used for generations. I love that I don't plug in my needles or have to recharge my swift. In this fast paced technology rich world, it's nice to step away and go low tech with my knitting.
