Texture Tuesday: Seeds

Somehow for me, sunflowers belong to the month of September. There is a certain way the sun shines against the deeper blue of the sky that really sets off the colors. I've been eyeing these giant sunflowers growing on a slope fairly high above the sidewalk. This morning on my way home from lap swimming at the pool, they were perfect! Not a macro, but a telephoto from the ground level many feet below. There is even a bee on the flower head. The seed area creates a wonderful texture, surrounded by a crown of petals at the periphery. Beautiful!
