it's a chicken!
First stop today was Leighton Moss RSPB reserve. A short walk to a few hides from where we saw hundreds of Black-tailed Godwit and the stars of the day 3 Great White Egret. From a footpath I photographed a squirrel and nuthatch (they are both on flickr ) but todays blip has to be this junior birdwatcher. She has us so amused insisting that the bird she was watching was a chicken despite being told many times that it was a pheasant.
We stocked up on bird food while there (the birds will be having a more nutritionally balanced diet than us) and bought a new bird table to replace the one that broke beyond repair last year.
Popped into Beetham Nurseries on the way home to buy spring flowering bulbs. Just need to remember to plant them.
