The folly of it all
Another bright, cold day but it was still very gloomy in Reelig Glen, where this photo was taken.
Local legend has it that the folly here was built on the orders of Lord Lovat by under-employed crofters during times of hardship. During the night, he would have it demolished and thereby kept the crofters in employment with their dignity intact. The belief that the demolition had done by fairies gave rise to the alternative name, the Fairy Glen.
