A Standing Ovation
The first day back in Parliament after the Referendum.
Both Nicola Sturgeon and Alex Salmond addressed the SNP Parliamentary group this evening. Both got presentations from the group. Both received standing ovations.
It has been another extraordinary day - one in which the SNP broke through the 50,000 member mark doubling its membership in five days. The Cabinet meeting this morning was positive and forward looking and tomorrow my keynote speech to the Scottish Learning Festival will be the same.
We are in uncharted waters but they have the feel of a flood tide, demanding that the promises made to Scotland last week are honoured and insisting that nothing will be allowed to stay the same.
The Westminster parties had a glib slogan during the campaign - a NO vote is not a vote for no change. It has come back to haunt them already because change is in the air.
