Sanxingdui

This is a 4000 year old bronze work discovered along with thousands of other pieces outside of Guanhan, which is not far from Chengdu. The masks were pretty spectacular, the protruding eyes were perhaps worship of the ancestors who had protruding eyes and the big ears are thought to be there as they can hear all that goes on. Well worth a day trip.
