Walking under ladders
Would you walk under a ladder or are you afraid of bad luck if you do?
Well, according to my recent (and non-scientific) research, three out of five people don't seem to mind!
Apparently the early superstitious thought is that a ladder leaning against a building forms a triangle or 3-pointed shape representing the Holy Trinity. Therefore, walking under a ladder, according to origin, would only be bad luck for a Christian who believed. Make of that what you will.
Common sense would suggest it's safer not too anyway.
So, as Joan Armatrading would have said, for 3 out of 5 people it's a case of
'I'm lucky, I'm Lucky, I can walk under ladders'
