Les Michelines

Seen this morning in the Gare du Nord, where a small exposition with historical ads is presented. In 1931 Michelin proposed to rail companies lighter, faster and smoother 'autorails', which soon became the nickname of the Michelines. But the tyres were not up to the heavy duty and the idea of autorails discontinued after 1938.
