Motorway Lights

It's been a busy day. I was so occupied with things that I forgot to have lunch - and I don't often do that!

Our relatively new Volvo had to go in to a dealer for a fault to do with the emissions (I'm lost already!) so I ended up driving to High Wycombe to a Volvo workshop. My daughter lives close by so I then went to visit her. We picked up Sophie from nursery and had a pizza.

One of the tasks in the September Technique Challenge is light trails. I had taken tripod and camera gear thinking that I might go a bit further to the motorway and try out this technique. My daughter told me of a good bridge to find which just crosses the M40 so is quite quiet. It was surreal to be there almost alone but with the traffic thundering along just below; it really is incredible just how fast everything is moving!

I will go back another time as I could really do with a bit more traffic. I ended up with a 5 second shutter speed to get the trails, although I quite liked the 2 second speed which gave a little shape to some of the vehicles.
