Langside Halls, Shawlands, Glasgow.

Visited here this evening, to view plans for a proposed Civic Square around and in front of the Halls and along the strip of grass to the entrance to Goals. The Halls certainly need some serious refurbishment inside. The public are being invited to make suggestions about what they would like to see. A lot of support to get rid of the taxi rank, slip road, railings and trees in front of the Halls. A desire for better lighting, Public "facilities", some seating, decent bins, planting, quality materials used, etc. Seemingly there has been a constant stream of visitors all day. Another chance to see and comment on Sat 4 October, 10 am - 6 pm at Langside Halls.

If this goes ahead, improving the space, would hopefully lead to more interest in investment further down the road at The Arcade area. One can but dream.

I do wonder about the Queen's Park Arena, at the old Bandstand area within the Park. Undergoing a phased improvement plan. I haven't been aware of that many events taking place there, so what would be different about this proposed space? More of a crossroads I guess, and on The Road to Hampden.
