Back home

The E-M1 came back today - I posted it on Friday just under two weeks ago, and the DHL tracking seems to indicate it has been to Portugal and back for repair (multiple remote releases would not work with it, so it was a body issue, not the release). A very acceptable speed of repair. It ams back with the new firmware installed, though of course I will have to reset all the settings to my personal preferences. I have certainly missed it while it has been away.

The X-T1 may be off for attention soon - mine is a very early model, and I've seen suggestions that the later models have less imprecise buttons around the rear control dial, and that early models can be upgraded to the later spec. Choosing between the E-M1 and the X-T1 is very difficult - I mostly used the E-M1 while on Skye recently because I found the v/f brighter, and less influenced by light coming in from behind my glasses, and I rather like the 'dramatic tone filter' option of the Olympus.
