'Silver Mist'
It's our 48th Wedding Anniversary today!
What to do for a Blip.....fellow blipper 'Inkfaces year' has given me her blessing to use one of my Paperweights...as she has done today. Thanks ink x
Twenty Three years ago P and I were celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary...on holiday in Salcombe, South Devon..my beloved South Devon. It was a wonderful week of sunshine...we walked miles on both sides of the estuary that week. One evening....the night before our Anniversary we were looking in the window of a very nice shop..and I commented on this paperweight. My surprise on the morning of our Silver.....I opened my gift..to find P had popped out and bought it for me
It was made by David Selkirk..who originally had worked for Caithness Glass.... the biggest surprise was its name...'Silver Mist'..a perfect name for a Silver wedding anniversary. I have a collection of Caithness paper weights but this one is extra special!
I have yet to learn how to photograph glass...so I'm afraid that my landing and bedroom are reflected here! Oh well...not to worry. At least I gave it a wash and polish!
