A walk in the rain

This afternoon we went for a walk through Cockermouth Park and along the banks of the River Cocker towards Southwaite Mill. The autumn leaves need another week for rich colour, as long as they stay on the trees.
We had only started the walk when this Heron obliged by sitting still long enough for me to take his picture before flying off over the fields.
