Day Of ....The Christmas Trees?

Strolling along the beach , I came across this. At first I thought, poor trees! they've done their best being festive and are now being denied access to the beach for some well earned "R n R"

...but then things took on a different perspective...the sky turned grey and "Uprising" by "Muse" came on my MP3 player and I'm sure I saw one of them wave menacingly. There was also a strange clicking sound....maybe they were being held back for a reason!!

...all is not what it seems however, it turns out that this is all part of a project to help keep the sand dunes intact.
