Making steam and smoke!

Had a super day out at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway today with fellow blipper riversider, who is an expert on steam trains.

I had no idea that a single track railway meant that the engines were not at the front of the train going one way, but then I drive an automatic car and have no idea how that goes forwards and backwards either!

The NYMR is run almost entirely by volunteers who come from all over Europe to work on the line. They do a magnificent job and the whole enterprise is enjoyed by thousands of visitors every year.
