Drumburgh Castle

Had to pick up repaired laptop today so once again found myself at the Solway Firth at Drumburgh. A fortified farmhouse Drumburgh Castle was built in 1307 on the site of an old Roman Fortlet and made from stone from Hadrians Wall and provided an ideal vantage point for viewing potential raiders or Border Reivers from both sides. Waiting until low tide they would access via a sandy 'wath' which was extremely risky as a lot of raiders got stuck in the sands and sank to their deaths.
