Doors Open Day 2014
Today K., and I headed into Edinburgh to explore Door's Open Day 2014. I don't normally do a collage but saw quite a few interesting things today!
First stop was Edinburgh University's Old Medical School Buildings to the Anatomy Museum & Lecture Theatres. We had a wander round the museum looking at various body parts and taking quizzes then met Mr Burke of Burke & Hare body snatching fame in the skeleton rather than the flesh (however the lecturer assured us that there are items made out of Burke's flesh available for viewing elsewhere), and then attended a brief lecture on the history of anatomy in Edinburgh (bottom left picture).
We then headed through the Meadows where I saw this mural that I've never noticed before (middle right) & saw quidditch being played in the flesh (bottom right).
Our final stop was Summerhall (top left) where K's favourite bit was the Summerhall Brewery featuring Pickerings Gin & Buddy's beer (top left). I'm not a beer drinker but I did try some, was surprised that some chocolate went well with beer but I'm still not a convert.
Just had a lovely pizza night at home catching up with my friend S. & now it's time to go make the holiday shopping list.
