Oh Goody Food!

Our foodbank was asked to attend the Voices for the People Rally at Holyrood today.

There was over 3 tonnes worth of food donated, so overwhelmed emotionally!!! And too as more than one trip for the trailer crews. As well as collection also at the Gyle we were very busy. We normally have 4 -6 people in the warehouse when busy, but late afternoon 18 folk all sorting and weighing food!

The total foods stuff that NW Edinburgh and Central Foodbanks received from the Rally was 2235.65kg. And a van load of stuff went thru to Clackmannanshire Foodbanks so that would easily take it thru 3 tonnes barrier! WOW!!!

NW Edinburgh and Central Foodbanks go thru roughly 2.5 tonnes each month, so we are now well stocked for a month :-D

I was interviewed a couple of times, and photographed too - prefer to be behind the camera, but all good promotion for the foodbanks. Exhausted completely but a :-D day for our foodbanks.

Thank you to all donators, the strangers who volunteered to help pack the food into vans, trailers and cars, couldn't have done it on our own - we would still be there ;-)
