Burgess Hill Bonfire Night

Yup it's that time again! The local Sussex tradition of bonfire processions to commemorate Guy Fawkes and the burning of martyrs in Lewes began a few weeks ago and tonight was our turn! Members if many societies in costumes ranging from Aztecs to smugglers to native Americans process through the streets of town with flaming torches and marching bands.

The societies raise lots of money for local charities through the street collection and the procession is always a spectacle. There is also a huge free public firework display at the end of the parade.

This was the second year we have taken the twins and they loved it this time, pointing at all the torches, eyes wide!

Might still be a few years before we make it to the fireworks on the other side of town though!
