Don't Know Why, but they get keep Following Me!
I had a wonderful afternoon out with Flying and we meet up with Teejay, Kiwilizzie, 1 Day Older, and her son, Jillian's Journal, Thepainterswife and mmp26 and had a wonderful blip meet. Great meeting up with you all, thank you Teejay.
On the way back from the blip meet Flying and myself stopped off in High Street to have a look at the Traffic Sheep. I was amazed how the street looked so different at that time of day, it added a new dynamic to things.
I am off out for dinner so well catch up on your blips later
About the Sheep
Just when you thought the traffic cone was getting boring, the Christchurch City Council has installed some traffic sheep on High St. The geometric plastic sculptures are functional and bright, providing seating and a colourful take on redirecting traffic.
The flock of sheep has been installed on the High St/Manchester St intersection outside Stranges Building and is one of many sculpture installations planned for the area.
The flock was designed by German industrial designer Christopher Machet and made to order in Ashburton complete with reflective strips.
The art installations are part of the council's plan to create more user-friendly inner city spaces with pedestrian and cycle access. There would be a focus on recycled materials and bright public art.
