Venice in Glasgow

A detail of the facade of the Templeton's Carpet Factory, Glasgow Green (1888-92). The bricks looked stunning in the late afternoon sun.

The Scottish architect William Leiper was inspired by the late Medieval Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale) in Venice. Brickwork in yellow, orange and blue, with turrets, arches and circular windows.

We had a visit this morning from Eubers and Goretex minutes after the postman had delivered by birthday present. After much deliberation I went for a 50mm 1.4. Thanks to the Blip community who gave me advice. Give me a day or two to produce something interesting. I have my Big Day to concentrate on tomorrow.
