Life on the Mekong

I cycled about 70km in total today to visit a famous waterfall that was thundering and full thanks to recent wet season rains. I would have perished if I'd gone swimming, even though I was quite in need of a wash after some long uphill stretches.

The scenery was absolutely beautiful - lush paddies, steaming forests, peaceful villages, imposing outcrops, all set alongside the winding and mighty Mekong.
