Getting old...

Some days the only thing you want to do is spend some time with old friends.

I don't have a TV, but I still watch a lot of programmes. The majority of these are American series - I'm currently waiting for a whole load of them to start up again - Supernatural, the Walking Dead, Person of Interest (started again this week) and Arrow, to name a few.

But my favourite will always be Buffy. The first episode aired in 1997 when I was 16 - just over half of my lifetime ago. It was my first introduction to Joss Whedon and his strong female characters and it was a complete inspiration. Whenever I felt sad or down, this programme would always cheer me up. I have watched each episode countless times and they are like old friends.

Today I felt like a Buffy day. This is the brilliance that is 'Once More with Feeling' - the musical episode that originally aired on 6 November 2001. As sad as this sounds, I remember where I was when I first saw it; I was in Uni in Hull, sitting in my friend Laura's house - her flatmate had illegally downloaded it onto DVD for us. I still remember the words to all the songs.
