Oystercatchers

Went down to Alnwick to buy some shoes for Mr M - there were none he liked, so we bought a wok instead! Coffee al fresco in the market square, a very pleasant lunch and a visit to Barter Books. (Minor miracle - we didn't buy any books this time...)

Then on to Alnmouth for a walk on the beach. Watched these oystercatchers on a sandspit. Each time a wave broke over the sand, they ran in the opposite direction and then went back to await the next one. Quite amusing!
