Shock & Awe with Cats
This surprising blip is a combination of parts on my work table. I have some fabric with cat prints for a project laid out. Then yesterday at Oxford Public Library I picked up a book I had ordered from inter-library loan, Golfing for Cats.
I was shocked to see that it could be a Nazi book!! I expected a humourous book about advice on playing golf with cat illustrations. We are so conditioned that anything with that icon causes a negative reaction.
I have flipped through the book and NO Cats appear anywhere inside. There are a few sketches of soldiers setting up some kind of tripods.
Well, I think it still works for me as a title. Since my cats belong to a golf group called Catty Shack. It meets on www.thecatchannel.com. A few old furry friends play temperature golf daily; and since none of them have any idea how to really play they just make each other laugh and be silly as virtual friends will do. Their two favourite parts of the day are stopping at their Clubhouse for special drinks: "Cat Daniel"s is on the top of the list for my cats. The other fun is at the end of the day when they all have golf cart races in the parking lot.
Now, you can see why I was disappointed when this strange book arrived. I have not tried reading it yet. I can only assume the author wanted to gain the most attention for sales by the title and cover design.
Any thoughts?
