Greyfriars Bobby nose saga continues ...
This sign has been on the railings for at least 2 days now. Putting aside the whole damage to the statue thing, I find this saga hilarious. "THE TRADITION OF RUBBING THE NOSE FOR LUCK IS AN URBAN MYTH" thunders the sign - how do these people think traditions start? Is there some official tradition registry somewhere? "URBAN MYTH", as if some of these things people do for luck have actually been scientifically proven to work. Has this always happened - when they put the statute of Winston by the door to the House of Commons and some MP's started rubbing his foot for luck on the way in did other MP's start shouting "STOP TOUCHING HIM!"? Sometimes I'm tempted to rub the nose on the way past just to wind these people up.
