Danish Oysters

These oyster beds are off the long causeway between the mainland and Romo Island. We took a detour to the island on our way back from Germany (a day-trip to Germany - with no border controls - such a strange experience for a Brit!).

There was an art installation on the beach at Blaavand (see yesterday's blip) about how the European oyster has been replaced by the Pacific one in these seas after being introduced in the 1960's.

PS The West side of Romo has a HUGE beach - which we drove on to!
