Excitement on the Street
Well not really that exciting but as we get back to normal and deal with the post holiday blues I had to nip out to Watford to pick up some new tights and general stuff and when I arrived back home I saw some major Fire engine-age going on in the street. There was no fire, but in the flat across from our house there was clearly a rogue smoke alarm going off.
It took 2 engines to get a guy up there, in the window to take out the battery. Steve was a wee bit embarrassed at me getting out the camera for a few snaps but if there was a real fire or at smoke I wouldn't have.
My brother in law was staying with us this weekend as he had been to see the Libertines in London with his sister and her boyfriend. The three of them got in pretty late last night and were a bit worse for ware this morning but from the sounds of their evening they had a great night out. Sometimes the hangover is worth it. We all went out for a late Sunday lunch before I headed to Luton to drop them off at the airport.
Next weekend is my Palace to Palace bike ride and despite good intentions I am no where near ready for it! Oh well as long as the brakes aren't engaged for the first 20 miles of my ride this year then it shouldn't be too bad....*touch wood*.
