Springtime Bloodsuckers

This hearty thing was waiting for lunch on my back porch. I do not enjoy finding these thumb size spiders around my home, but it is hard not to notice them because they are everywhere right now.

I know they play an important function in nature, but it is hard to keep a level head when you run through a cob web and wonder if you have a hairy cling-on waiting to find some bare skin.

But, I did leave him alone with the understanding he must stay outside and cannot venture in through the backdoor.
