A mill at Saltaire
This is just one of many golden buildings at the wonderful community , and now world heritage site, created by the philanthropist Titus Salt on the River Aire just outside Bradford. It contained everything from workplaces, homes, shops, community buildings, school, hospital, park...it's sits astride the railway, the canal....and the river. It's well worth a long visit which is why I plan to go back. I was there for for the launch of a new book festival and the guest of my oldest nephew who lives in one of the old mill buildings now converted into lovely apartments.
