one!

it was sam's first birthday today. first thing this morning, while i was in the shower, he managed to make his way downstairs on his own, for the very first time, just as if to say 'i'm a big boy now'! we just heard this wee giggle coming from the staircase.

i was working, so his celebrations continued with auntie jill, then granma and grandad. the kids in laurie's nursery sang him happy birthday. we went out to the local italian for tea.
