Source of Life

A beautiful still and sunny autumn day and plenty of people were out enjoying a walk along the canal, others sat and read or watched the world go by. The owner of this canal boat has been preparing for colder weather restocking the supply of wood for the stove. In the background you can see the red roof of the Forth Canoe Club and the red stone of Polworth Parish Church. The canal has been such a tremendous source of life and inspiration since I moved to Edinburgh - there is always something going on in it or around it, and it forms a focus of so many varied activities for so many different people.
