Artist At Work
For English Heritage's recent open days I went into Bath to visit Clevedon Baths. I'd parked near Clevedon House, which straddles the Kennet and Avon, guessing wrongly that it would be close by. It proved quite tricky to find, despite the written instructions I'd copied out from the website, and spent half an hour circling in its proximity on foot before I found it, nestling behind the River Avon. Currently in some disrepair it is at the start of an extensive renovation programme.
It was situated quite close to the canal but in the opposite direction from where I had parked to the way I had ventured towards Clevedon House, and the instructions hadn't said how to get there from the canal, but that it was near the Holburne Museum and Sydney Gardens, which lie further beyond Clevedon House in the wrong direction.
The walk back to the car took well under ten minutes along the towpath, during which I took a better batch of pictures, ending up back at the Holburne Museum, sadly just too late to get a coffee. In Sydney Gardens I came across this gentleman painting in oils and was given permission to take his portrait.

Pink Floyd - Paint Box (recorded 2 November 1967, EMI Studio 3, Abbey Rd)
This Rick Wright composition, on which he takes the lead vocal, was the B-side of the single Apples and Oranges (1967) and later turned up on the compilation Relics in the stereo mix heard here.
The video is a promotional film that was shot for Belgian television, 18-19 February 1968. The Pink Floyd are on a bridge in Brussels, miming to the record, although Syd Barrett, who was still a member of the band when the song was recorded, had left and the film features David Gilmour apparently on guitar; his first appearance on film with the band. The Atomium is seen in the background.
