Traquair
Scotland's oldest inhabited house; where we spent a wonderful morning.
This view of the magnificent house is from the 'Wineglass Lawn' still with the heavy dew on it. We loved the house and learnt more about some areas of Scottish history in 3 hours than I ever learnt remember from school!; we got lost in the maze, we sampled the ales from the working brewery (and brought some home, to accompany a venison casserole perhaps?!); we walked in the sunshine around the beautiful old walled garden accompanied by one or two Small Tortoiseshell and Peacock Butterflies and much birdsong. Then, very sadly, we had to say goodbye to Scotland and wend our way on our long journey home to Shropshire.
Home now, after a very good journey and a fantastic weekend.
