Star Trails

It was a bit late by the time I'd got round to blipping so there was only one thing for it, jump in the car and head for the stars - I live in suburbia so not really dark enough to capture them locally.

I'd blipped from this spot in the daytime some time back so was aware of the pylon to add a bit of interest. The glow from the left comes from the M4 motorway and the Severn Bridge more centrally. It's the first time I've experimented with star-oriented long exposures and something I'd like to do again, perhaps with a more interesting foreground and keeping the shutter open 20-30 minutes.
