Blue Jay

Terrible shot, but he has a beady eye and he sees me the minute I try to reach for the camera...even if I think I have barely moved because it's right beside me on the desk. After he made 2 visits to the birdbath, I tried setting the camera up on the gorillapod so I could snap him without having to move more than my hand to the button, but then I didn't see him again...go figure. He doesn't come to the bird bath very often, usually I see him from afar in the pecan tree, or I hear him yelling his big blue head off way too early in the morning :0) Sometimes he sits in the oak tree bashing acorns and then dropping them on your head LOL

Its been a very long day. My neighbors son, and no1 son's best friend, had a seizure while getting ready for school this morning. Ambulance called, mother beside herself, siblings dropped at my door by her pajama-clad next door neighbor - somewhat dazed until I got her on the phone and her sobbing shook me awake. A long day of waiting for news. This evening he seems to be feeling better and all tests are normal. Children have gone to a relative. I will take my kids to visit him tomorrow. Long day, time for bed. Hopefully tomorrow will dawn uneventfully, and a little later please :0)
