Thermostats and mailboxes....

Looking for a thermostat that allows a landlord lockout, or at least the ability to set limits on temperature control. Didn't find anything so that'll need more investigating.

Odd day.

Didn't get as much as I wanted done as we had to run to the scrapyard for a friend, and then sort the "Mailbox Situation".

Essentially, some dumb woman last week reversed all the way down the cul de sac, did a J turn into our mailbox, checked the damage on her car and mailbox, and then drove off. Plenty of witnesses of course. Do you think she left a note on our door? Of course not.

After knocking on a door where the vehicle seems to go to each day, we got 'Speedy' (or at least Speedy's husband) to pay us a visit and promise some money to replace the dead mailbox.

That was Thursday. Today I wasn't so pleasant. As the car went by (I know exactly which car) I flagged it down and had a chat with Speedy. 5 minutes later, Speedy's mother came out, and she promised to make things right. 1 hour later, a man turns up at our doorstep with a signed confession (I have no idea what that was about), and $40 to replace the dead mailbox. Job done.
