Kraków Salt Mine

Rainy day in Krakow yesterday so delighted to be able to spend a few hours deep underground in the spectacular Wieliczka Salt Mine.

This image is of the astonishing St Kinga's Chapel, a huge church carved out of the salt 100m underground.

It's a pretty tough place to take photos. It's very dark and, if you don't have a tripod, getting any kind of long exposure is tricky. I used whatever flat surface I could but lots of people flashing made it very difficult.

This picture is an HDR 3-shot combo taken from the balcony with the camera sitting on the bannister.

If you are ever near Kraków you should go to the mine but it's quite a bit of walking and perhaps not for the claustrophobic.

Thanks to the fellow Blipper who told me to go, this blip is for you!
