We stumbled down the dirt track in our little hired gun and into a cove of such intense blue that you were speechless and spellbound at the same time.

Around the bay, steep cliffs of fir clad trees shone a brilliant green in homage to the beauty of the day.

We ate fresh salads and drink ice cold white wine and water before making our way to the white pebble beach to swim and wonder.

If you are ever in Kefalonia, follow the signs for Sami, drive straight through and follow the one way track to the beach. You will thank me once you've had therapy for the bends. Thankfully I've already had therapy, so for me the bends were a fairground thrill.
