Typical Engadine House

This is a typical Engadine House, with its grand carved entrance and ornate wooden door. On the left of the door and at a lower level is the door to the barn for the animals. This pattern is repeated throughout the valley, and the last house to retain the animals living below the house was only discontinued within the last decade.
