Upper Main Field, Itchingfield

After a very busy and successful day at work, I went for a walk at Itchingfield. This field is number 524 on the Tithe Map of 1839 and it was then owned as part of the church Glebe Land by the Rev Edward Elmes. His tomb can be found just east of the chancel east window in the churchyard. The field in 1839 had an area of 5 acres, 2 rods and 4 perches in old measurements. It was then arable and it has recently been cultivated but this has happened several times over the last few years and it seems to have been abandoned and the field covered in weeds! So what has been sown there now, is a mystery!

This is late going on as I have been writing an email on a dating site....I have tried many times to "talk" to people via email as one would normally do on internet dating sites. Sadly, being me - the ultimate failure in all of this kind of thing, I have never ever had a reply to any email I've written, let alone had the opportunity to "talk" to anyone. Dating someone would be so sensational it really would be a case of "We interrupt this broadcast........" After over 20 years it's truly unimaginable. It's a total waste of time trying to write them, but I have to keep plodding on. But maybe oneday, just one day - someone out there might find that this stupid pleb of a person writing this does have some real worth in the world!
