Historical Connections

Today Mark's cousin got married and we were all invited. I haven't been to a wedding for years, and I have to say this one didn't disappoint! The bride looked stunning, the church was really pretty, there were lots of men in uniform (Michael's in the RAF) and the reception was held at a beautiful location, Southwick House. This is where the D-Day landings were planned, so there was lots to see, as well as the usual wedding reception entertainment.

James in particular, took an interest in the history of Southwick House, and absolutely loved the room where the all the planning was done in the days leading up to the D-Day landings. It has been left pretty much as it was back in the 1940's and he spent a long time with Grandad taking it all in!
