Round and Round

Today I discovered this fabulous sculpture in the small front garden of an inner city property. I could easily have walked past it, but on closer inspection I realised it was a large circle of children's bikes all weather-beaten by the elements. I don't know who the artist is so I can't give them credit, but I found it fascinating - partly because it was in such a random place. I would love to see it as the centre of attention at the end of a long well-mowed lawn, or at the end of a simple pathway. Each bike is joined together by a wheel (so it's not a complete bike) and it just goes round and round. Wonderful. I have just captured a piece of it looking up towards the sky (because there were too many other distracting elements closer to the ground). I've made the sky slightly surreal because that's how I felt about the whole thing. It was a real treat to find it there, unannounced.
