Drove Mum into Vic Park for an appointment and treated ourselves to a wander around Kong's Asian Grocers.
A bag full of goodies including Panch Phoron a whole five spice blend containing cumin, fenugreek, fennel, mustard and nigella seeds.
Typically fried in oil or ghee, the seeds pop releasing their flavour and can be used in sauteeing vegetables, in chutneys or as a hot, popping topping on dhal or lentil soup.
Yummmm!
