To Larach Sithe on a tandem
Some said you can not do it, some said you must not do it, some said you should not do it. You said you wanted to do it and someone else said you could do it. So you did it.
190 miles, two and a half days, wind in our face for most of the time but no rain. The Moulin Moor and Drumochter summits were conquered but Mam Ratagan was given the respect it deserved. Along the route several hostelries were sampled. Strathardle Inn, Little's Fish Restaurant in Blairgowrie, The Moulin Inn, The Bothy Bar in Blairgowrie, Laggan Pottery and Tea Room, The Spean Bridge Woollen Mill, Stewart's Fine Dinning in Invergarry and the Cluanie Inn all passed muster. The Thrapple Douser in the Moulin got marks for the best named beer of the trip but an Old Poultney in Invergarry got the prize for reviving the parts that no beers but some saddles can reach.
The bike is resting now, ready for the next jaunt before being packed away for a New Zealand trip later in the year.
