Dune at Noon

It was too beautiful today to stay in the house. Our family packed up at noon time for a quick trip to the sand dunes near Horsfall Beach. We let the dog run around until he collapsed while the three of us took in the fresh air and the scenery.

It is so quiet out here, once you get to the top of a sand dune. All you can hear is the wind and the occasional 4-wheeler motoring off in the distance (along with my gasping for breath as I tried to keep up with my daughter).

The sky was an incredible shade of blue which was a perfect back drop to the brown and green landscape.On a day like this, you can forget that it rains nine months out of the year here in Oregon.
