Holy Trinity, Lane End
Matthew is working in Lane End this week which is fairly local to us. He is adding an autowind system to the clock as well and stripping and cleaning the clock.
I visited him today and we had a picnic lunch on the green outside the church :)
Below is information about the clock from Matthew's upcoming book-
"The clock is a flatbed with locking plate strike by G. J. F. Newey of York in 1925. It has a single, six-legged gravity escapement and a 1 second pendulum. The clock was an addition in 1925, although it would seem a clock had always been intended for in the tower, as the two circular opening for the dials above the louvers existed in the 1900 alterations and two similar opening also existed in the original tower. The clock was the gift of Miss Abram in memory of her parents.
2 dials, 5ft diam. Glazed skeleton"
