Translucence
Waking again to an extravagance of bird song, but actually woken by very strange sounds from outside. Couldn’t spot anything through the bedroom shutters and whatever bird or creature it was had vanished by the time I got to another window. The mystery will haunt me till next time.
Trying to concentrate more on work today, not helped by the same birds as yesterday flitting in and out, and the toucan who came to within 15 yards (not that I was quick enough with the camera). Fortunately, an afternoon walk with Kayla showed that yesterday’s fire had destroyed much less than I expected. With everything tinder dry and the warm, strong wind, I was afraid more fires would start before the promised rain, but at least near us, that didn’t happen. The welcome rain caught Kayla and I just before we got home. Then we had to pack up to head back down to Rio for and I’m now [was then] sitting on the verandah of a club with a ceilidh in full swing inside. I was working, but it has turned into a sociable table, so no go. Besides, they’re about to play Mairie’s Wedding, and I’m going to dance that, willy nilly.
Things became so sociable, in fact, that I didn’t manage to post this blip yesterday. It’s now Wednesday evening, I’m now sitting at my desk, missing choir, still working and haven’t waved a camera at anything all day.
