Who's that handsome looking chap?

Tis the season for Daddy Long Legs, or Crane Flies. Gangly, stick thin, you wonder what their significance can possibly be. They're not beautiful butterflies.

One was on the bedroom window this morning. I thought I'd get my macro lens out. Focused on the head and displayed the results in Lightroom.

Have you seen those eyes? Wow! They're iridescent with colour, reminding me of 3rd order polarisation colours of calcite seen under the petrographic microscope.

And I'd caught his reflection in a rather dirty window.

Then it was time to go to the podiatrist in Ashby. So mundane.
